It was another week and another impressive performance for former SUU standout quarterback Brad Sorensen. This time it was on a national spotlight.
Sorensen played the fourth quarter in San Diego's 33-28 preseason loss Thursday to Chicago and for the second consecutive week, Sorensen tossed a touchdown pass.
The alumnus threw for 126 yards on 8-of-14 passing, with one touchdown. He ended with a 111 passing rating.
The game was broadcast on ESPN.
Through two preseason games, Sorensen is now 15-for-24, with 210 yards, two touchdowns and more importantly, no turnovers. He also has a passer rating of 118.4 and has completed 62.5 percent of his passes.
It's been enough for U-T San Diego columnist Kevin Acee to believe Sorensen should make the Chargers 53-man roster.
In Philadelphia, Nick Miller caught two passes for 14 yards and returned a punt for 11 yards in the Eagles 14-9 win over Carolina. Miller is fighting to make the Eagles cut. Philadelphia has been hampered with injuries at the wide receiver position.
On defense, Cody Larsen recorded a tackle in Baltimore's 27-23 win Thursday.
Dion Turner recorded two tackles for New Orleans, as the Saints beat Oakland 28-20 Friday.
