SUU’s music department hosted a free adjunct faculty recital titled “Abendmusik” Tuesday night in the Thorley Recital Hall.
For most students, graduation means finding a job and taking on the world.
On Valentine’s Day, members of the College of Visual and Performing Arts will perform “All You Need Is Love,” the second annual Rock and Roll choir show at 7:30 p.m. in the Heritage Center Theater.
SUU’s Department of Music will present the third concert in the Great American Songbook Concert Series Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Southern Utah Museum of Art.

There was a “Joyful Noise” this week at Monday’s instrument drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration at St. Jude’s Episcopal Church. The Orchestra of Southern Utah and the Cedar City Peace and Justice Association collaborated to create the event A Joyful Noise: Instrument Drive and MLK Jr. Day Celebration.
High school students from all over Utah and southern Nevada will be traveling to Cedar City this weekend for the High School Honor Band Concert on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Heritage Center Theater.
SUU’s College of Performing and Visual Arts presents “Impact: An Original Student-Choreographed Dance Concert.” This annual student dance concert runs Dec. 2, 3 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinée at 2 p.m. on Dec. 3 in the Randall L. Jones Theatre. Tickets for the concert are $10 for adults, $5 for youth and free for SUU faculty, staff and students with a valid ID.
Corlissa Jensen, a masters of music technology student from Pleasant Grove, finished her undergraduate degree at SUU last spring. However, with so much more to learn, Jensen said she decided to continue on to receive her masters.
Last weekend, SUU’s Department of Music brought fairy tales to life onstage during their run of “Devils, Demons, and Redemption,” performed in the Thorley Recital Hall.
The SUU Jazz Ensemble performed an array of jazz classics Monday night in the Sharwan Smith Student Center Living Room. The Legends In The Living Room Jazz Band Concert is an annual concert that is free and open to the public.
Christmas came early Monday evening when the Cedar Valley Community Theatre (CVCT) held its first annual “Pre-Thanksgiving Holiday Spectacular” at St. Jude’s Episcopal Church.
The Orchestra of Southern Utah (OSU) presented the “Natural Legacy” concert Nov. 10 at the Heritage Center Theater.
Students from the College of Performing and Visual Arts performed in a string and piano ensemble recital Monday night in the Thorley Recital Hall.
Bread and Soup Nite, in partnership with Thunder 91, featured Guitars Unplugged, a competition open to all students to play acoustic guitar for the chance to win a new guitar from Whittlesticks.
