Students who will be eligible to teach in 2010 or 2011 and alumni can attend the Utah Association for Employment in Education Teacher Fair at Brigham Young University and Utah State University later this week.
There are two fairs this year. A Utah Teacher Fair North will be Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center Ballroom at Utah State University. A Utah Teacher Fair South will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Wilkinson Student Center Ballroom at Brigham Young University, according to a flier for the fairs.
Between 80 and 100 school districts will be at each fair, said Career and Education Program Specialists Stacia Thomas. Attendance is free for students.
According to an event flier, information about which schools and districts that will be interviewing at the event is available at uaee.org.
Thomas said she encourages attendees to bring resumes.
“We have people from all over the state and surrounding states attend looking for teaching positions,” Thomas said. “I fear this year we will be exploding with people due to the economy.”
