With children lacking the capacity and knowledge to take care of themselves, parents need to play a vital role in the pursuit to changing this problem. Consequently, parents must become teachers; instilling the proper eating and exercising habits necessary for children to break the ongoing cycle of obesity in America today.

I am the leader of a large club at Southern Utah University and I have noticed a widespread problem on campus. When planning an event on campus, I have discovered that it can be very exasperating and problematic when dealing with Chartwells and the food system that is currently in place.
Here on campus there is a club called the Presidential Ambassadors. This club is responsible for recruiting new students. They give tours, host overnights, make trips to high schools, and other various recruiting activities. At nearly every other campus in Utah, this club is not a club but actually a paying job or some kind of scholarship is offered, here at SUU that isn’t the case, but that’s changing this coming year.
