For years I've always wanted to see City and Colour live, but alas my location was hindering my ability to do so. I've been a huge fan of Dallas Green and his projects for years, and on 11/11/11 — the biggest lucky day out there since ... um probably 7/7/07 — my hopes and dreams came true.
It sounds cheesy, but I don't mind. I really wanted to get a chance to see Dallas live and get a chance to meet him. I didn't get the latter because of scheduling issues, but the former made up for everything that has gone wrong this semester.
First off, Dallas played two of my favorite songs ever written — "Day Old Hate" and "As Much As I Ever Could" — and he really does sing as great as I thought. On top of that, I was happy to see the entire recording studio band alongside him — especially Daniel Romano, who looked like a total badass in his still posture and sunglasses.
I loved how some of Green's older songs sound with a full band. Everything sounded great and even the lighting crew did amazing job. It was seriously the greatest concert I've ever been to.
